One example of a coagulation factor is Factor VIII (eight).

Factor VIII (eight) is one coagulation factor. The result of the body not making enough factor VIII is Hemophilia A.

This Hemophilia A is caused by an inherited X-linked recessive trait. It is located on Chromosome X with some gene defects. Female gender has two duplicate of the X chromosome but males only have one X chromosome.

All children with hemophilia will carry some gene defects. Risk factors for hemophilia A include:

  • Having a Family history of the disease
